Connie Lea was born January 6, 1951 in Sayre, Pennsylvania.
She started singing at a very early age of five with her twin
sister. Throughout her growing-up years, she was singing in
several school choirs and family gatherings. She took voice
lessons in high school and later after her marriage. After
graduating in 1970 she attended two different schools for the
blind to help her in the skills needed to live on her own and
to support herself. While attending a school in Albany she
was reacquainted with a boy from elementary school. After a
couple years of dating they married and lived in Rochester,
N.Y. It was while living in Rochester that a friend invited
them to church. After a few visits they both went forward to
accept Jesus as Lord and Savior of their lives. The Lord has
since put her husband’s interest in radio and Connie
Lea’s interest in singing together to reach out for the
Lord Jesus Christ.
Enjoying music Connie Lea took some guitar lessons so that
she was able to accompany herself to workout songs. Her life’s
dream has been to learn the piano and has had some lessons.
She enjoys singing for churches, festivals, and jamborees in
New York, Pennsylvania and has had appearances in Nashville,
TN. These appearances have brought about the production of
her first CD titled “Plenty of Time”. Being involved
in many activities, she is now reaching out to become a recording
artist. One of the many songs that she loves to sing, written
by a very good friend, Sandra Lee Burdick is called “Somebody
Up There Loves You”. She hopes it is a blessing to you
as much as it was for her to record it. Be looking for Connie
Lea’s other chart hits called “El Shaddai,” “Plenty
of Time” a song for our day and time and many more releases
from her latest new project.
She and her husband (Bruce) married in 1976. Being actively
involved with her husband’s radio program, she is heard
singing and reading the scriptures. She is part owner and office
manager for his syndicated radio programs “Do it Right
Productions”. She has her recording career with God Child
records, one of the top labels in Nashville, TN. Connie Lea
is excited about what the future holds in store! She says “Keep
your eyes on JESUS and HE will make a way for you”. One
of her many concerns is to serve her LORD and SAVIOR, JESUS
CHRIST. She wants to sing for Jesus and be there for her family.
Connie Lea had the honor of being a part of the Music City
Christian Fellowship choir for “The Sunday Morning Country“ held
at The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tn and later that evening
she and radio host, Bruce Cutler, had an interview on WSM Radio
Nashville, TN and had her music aired as well on Sunday June
10, 2007.
